Ashley Iles “York” carving set is a UK made set of 6 wood carving gouges offering good value and high quality for the novice woodcarver. The set includes-
1/4" Sweep No 39 V-gouge;
1/16" Sweep No 11 straight gouge;
1/4" Sweep No 9 straight gouge;
3/8" Sweep No 3 straight gouge;
5/8" Sweep No 5 straight gouge;
5/8" Sweep No 1 straight chisel.
The blades are hand-finished O1 carbon steel – this holds a sharp edge well and makes the tool easier and safer to use.
Each gouge is around 9.5”(24cm) long including the hardwood handle and will last the keenest carver a long time.
The set is now supplied in a six pocket tool roll for protection during delivery and safe storage when not in use.
